September 2014

Name:  Brian scullion.

Age:   44

Occupation: Cad-Cam Manufacturing Engineer

Years inTriathlon: Three

Triathlon Highlights or recent performances: Has to be  Ironman 70.3 Muskoka
even though I've went faster since, it was the first real test and coming from a non swimming background 12months prior, I remember exiting the water and thinking Wow!

Current Goal:  To end this years season on a high note and injury free which I achieved in Newry with a new Pb. 1:06:23 and 2nd in age group. new goal is now chillax...

Next Year’s Goal: Learn too swim properly.

Favourite Training Sessions:
Hold the pace run sessions
8 times x (3mins 1/2 marathon, 2 mins, 10k, 1Min 5K, 1 min rest)

What made you take up the sport?
I fell of my mountain bike and cracked three ribs, that postponed my running for a while as well, after 5 weeks doing no exerxcise I was at the pool flailing my arms about and holding my breath for the entire breadth of the pool, whenever Lorraine Nelson (lifeguard) asked me what I was trying to do,  I explained and she introduced me to club member Stevie Graham who was taking the masters swim at the time.
(it was bad at the start, they jokingly used to threaten to charge me for the amount of water I drank)

Favourite food/drink: CHOCOLATE.

Favourite bit of kit/equipment: My dog Rhyker, a german sheppard he runs at 8 min/mile pace, no faster no slower - great pacer for steady runs and always wants to go

Who do you see as your main rivals? Myself, I'm not into the whole compare my time thing, what makes me happy is knowing I performed my best, if everything bar small hiccups works out ok - thats a result in my book.

Finish this sentence:   If I wasn’t training I would be ...annoying the neighbours with my guitar playing....Metallica anyone.
